Vintage Elephant Family Ashtray 50s Aqua and Gold Novelty Ash Tray, Mid Century Pottery Dish with Elephant Figurines, Mother and Babies$40.00
Vintage Elephant Ashtray, 1950s Pottery Dish with Elephant Figurines
Aqua dish has gold flecked detail and has a small family of elephants presiding over it as they would at a pool!
The "pool" is in the shape of a conch shell, and there are two resting spots for cigarettes. There is also a chain that runs through loops at the necks of all the elephants, keeping the little family together.
This Mid Century dish is made by Napco Originals and still has its foil label on it. There is a big elephant (mama!) and 5 little ones (babies!). I am sad to say that 4 of the 5 babies have had their trunks broken off! The sort of good news, though, is that you don't necessarily notice unless you are looking more closely. Even with their poor broken trunks, this is SUCH a fun piece! Could obviously be used as an ash tray for any of your smoking needs (cigar? cigarette? joint?); but can also be used for jewelry, or as a catchall by the door for your keys, or even on a coffee table with some candy in it. I really love this dish so much, and the colors are perfect mid century aqua and pink colors.
This dish measures 9" long, 5. 75" deep, and at its tallest point is 4" tall.
