60’s Cotton Neon Floral Yukata Kimono$360.00
We acquired this fun & authentic kimono from a wealthy Japanese collector that had an immaculate estate in Pasadena, CA. She collected amazing vintage and antique textile and fashion pieces...all direct from Japan. The Yukata is a less formal type of kimono, known to be worn in the summer during festivals or even just going out. Because they are designed for warmer weather, they are unlined and normally made of linen or cotton. (the tag in this kimono translates to read 100% cotton). They are often used by spas, hot springs, or bath houses for the guests to wear. And most household own a few for casual wear. This piece was made with a textured waffle-were white cotton & adorned with amazingly bright neon, hand painted floral patterns throughout. It has a single white tie at the chest area & can be worn open or closed. The back of the tag translates to “made in Japan” and the collector had owned this piece since the 1960’s. This piece is bold, bright, & unique to say the least. It is the perfect summer statement piece with it's light weight & comfy silhoueete.
Condition:
Great vintage condition with no damages to note. The white tie has very minor discoloration, especially where it wraps around inside the neckline collar. It could be easily spot cleaned away to perfection.
