Vintage Wasp Waist Suit 50s Royal Blue Metal Studded Skirt Suit Sz Xs by Frostmann

Vintage Royal Blue Wasp Waist Suit, 1950s Skirt and Blazer in Wool with Tiny Metal Studs, Size XS
Absolutely stunning bright royal blue wool suit is a two piece set with a jacket and skirt. The wool has some nice give to it, and the whole suit is encrusted with these absolutely miniscule metal studs!
The skirt is a simple pencil style. High waisted, side metal zip, hitting at or above the knees.
The jacket is where most of the intricacy is. It has a nipped in wasp waist, and a scalloped peplum hem. The jacket buttons up the front, and has a high v-neck with a shaped collar.
The suit does have some minor condition issues. First, I believe the buttons are not original to the suit. They do the job, but I feel like they have been swapped out.
Second, there are some minor moth holes. Some around the collar, one of which has had some kind of substance put on it (glue? nail polish?) but thankfully that one is not totally visible. There are some much smaller ones too - at the shoulder seam of each sleeve, the button placket. Thankfully they are all pretty small and/or camouflaged.
The jacket is fully lined but the skirt is not. On the one hand, this shows the way the metal studs are attached, so its fascinating. But you may want to wear a slip under the skirt. The stud backs did not catch on anything for me, and you can probably see that the skirt is SKIN TIGHT on me. But I also did not try the skirt on with any kind of nylons or pantyhose.
There are three tags in the jacket. One reads "Eisman's Hattiesburg, MISS". One reads "Tailored by Chappi" and one reads "Forstmann 100% Virgin Wool". There are some stunning vintage advertisements for Forstmann suits, and this suit is definitely a style match for those mid 1950s ads.

This measures like a modern size XS, and is shown on a size small model (who did not breathe or bend a whole lot during the wearing of this suit!). For best fit, please compare the measurements below to your own, or to the size chart of a brand that fits you well.
