Vintage St. John Santana Knit Suit. St. John by Marie Gray Skirt and Jacket in a Wool Santana Knit, Size 6, Blue Gray Color

A 1980s suit with a timeless style, by St. John in the classic Santana Knit. This is a two piece set. The skirt is an A-line with an elastic waist, and two pockets (!). The jacket or top is a button front sweater knit with a fitted waist, shoulder pads, and collar. The buttons up the front are gold tone and enamel, and there are decorative buttons at the sleeve cuffs as well. The top has two large patch pockets.
This piece is in amazing condition. The only flaw is a teeny nibble that is almost not noticeable. I did a little repair of it and have shown photos of the before and after. If you are the type who will have it professionally repaired, my repair should be easy enough to snip out. I really just wanted to prevent it from opening up. I also replaced the elastic on the skirt, and the suit has been dry cleaned. The label is from the late 70s or early 80s, but the style of this piece seems 80s, especially with those shoulder pads.

The skirt has no tags, but the jacket is marked size 6. Shown on a size small / 6 model. Measurements are equivalent to a modern size 6 or small. For best fit, please compare the measurements below to your own, or to the size chart of a brand that fits you well.
