Vintage Sleep Set, 1940s Style Shorts and Capelet Top Size M-L
Very unique pajama set with a beautiful 1940s style. I honestly don't know the age of this piece. Its possibly a modern reproduction, but the sewing construction is excellent - much more neatly finished internal construction than modern pieces see.
The shorts are high waisted and have a tailored waistband front, with elastic at the back. There are embroidered bow and ribbon designs along the hem of the legs, and some pretty lace trim.
The top is more of a bed jacket or cape style but it does offer some coverage. It has a circular cut, and is open at the front. There is embroidery along the edges of the opening, and at the tops of the flutter style sleeves. The sleeves are sewn just at the bottom, so they are pretty open. The front closes with two ribbon ties - one at the neck and one at the waist.
The fabric feels like lightweight cotton.
This has no tags at all and I believe it was handmade (there was a large collection of similarly styled pieces, all slightly different and at different stages of completion). It measures like a modern size medium to large, and is shown on a size small model. Hips: 48" (but waist only stretches to 40", so prob best for 40" hips max)
