Vintage Tissue Silk Scarf, 1950s People of India Print. Novelty Print Scarf features gorgeous figures in turbans and robes, in various vignettes. This is a VERY thin and elegant silk with primary colors printed in elaborate patterns. The border features alternating figures - one with a bow and arrows, a second with flowers. Each corner features the two together, one kneeling. I interpret it as a peace versus violence or love versus war theme. The colors are gorgeous and there are elaborate filigree lines filling the scarf.
Two of the edges of this have a selvedge, with a white border. The other two edges are hemmed. There are some small holes on one edge, but it's on the white area. Overall, this is in gorgeous condition.

This is almost too beautiful to be worn - it should be spread out to really show off the design!

Overall, this is really gorgeous! Measures 36" x 33. 5". Perfect , , ethnic, mid century style. Large enough to wear as a wrap over a bathing suit, depending on your waist size. Also lovely as decor. Fantastic size, and thin enough to be really versatile!
