Vintage Guy LaRoche Cocktail Dress Set, 1980s Silk Dupioni Dress with Bolero Jacket by Guy LaRoche, in a Colorblock Pink Orange Gold 1980's Style Boutique Piece
This is a truly stunning and exquisite quality dress. Made of 100% silk (both the dress and the lining), the shape of the gown is simple yet chic; and the stiffness of the fabric gives great form to the dress. The "bolero" jacket buttons up the back and goes to the edge of the shoulders. it's boxy shape reminds me of the ladies suits of the 1960's, and the colors are amazing. The jacket sits JUST off the shoulders, and has some elastic that helps it stay in place.
There is a waist stay on the inside of the dress to help give more support, and there is some light boning in the bodice. The zipper is a side nylon zip.
I have not found any flaws in this piece. However, the hanger loops inside both the dress and the jacket are VERY close to the edges, and I had a difficult time getting them to remain in the garment. I have shown a photo of one of the loops.
The marked size is a bit hard to read - I BELIEVE this is marked as a US 6, however it measures more like a modern US 0. The dress was very tight on a size 4 model. For best fit, please compare the measurements below to your own, or to the size chart of a brand that fits you well.
