Vintage Open Back Dress, 1980s Electric Blue Dress with Ruched Hips, Full Skirt, Long Sleeves, and Open Back, Size Large.
This is a gorgeous vintage dress in a soft polyester knit jersey fabric. The cut on this is super dreamy, and it is so comfortable! Moderate shoulder pads give some structure to the top, which has a scoop neck front and a fitted silhouette; but the back is quite open. There is a tie across the top of the shoulders to help the dress keep from slipping down the arms, but otherwise there is just a wide open section down the center of the back. The waist to hip area is gathered ruched fabric and the skirt is really full. The fabric is a heavier knit so the drape is wonderful and there is so much movement to the skirt because of it.
This is a marked size 12, and fits like a modern size large. There is a good amount of stretch to the fabric as well, and I think this is best as a more fitted dress. Shown on a size small model, which just does not do this dress justice! There are no condition issues, and this is a machine washable dress, which is a fantastic bonus.
