Vintage Sheer Chiffon Peignoir, 1960s Puff Sleeve Lingerie Robe with Lace Top, Hand Dyed Purple, Size Small
1960s sheer chiffon nylon robe has been dyed a jewel tone purple. This lovely was missing a button and also had some paint marks on one of the sleeves when I found her. I decided to try dyeing her and the result was a really beautiful deep plum color. Sheer peignoir with puff sleeves and a lace yoke at the top. There are 4 buttons at the bodice - three covered buttons that are original, plus one purple gemstone button that was added as a replacement. The paint marks are still there but are almost imperceptible now that this has been dyed .
This is a one of a kind piece that will be a gorgeous addition to your vintage lingerie collection! Not a typical color for the mid century era, but works beautifully with the pinks and aqua colors that were popular. Or, pair it with black for a more gothic look!
The robe is a very pin up girl or rockabilly style, but the color lends more to goth, grunge, or even styles. Much of it comes down to how you decide to style it, though! Play around and have fun!
