Vintage Ivory Satin Gown, Grecian Goddess Style Dress or Nightgown Size Small
This is an absolutely stunning piece! It has a very 1930s Hollywood Glamour vibe, but I feel like this was made later, probably the 1970s. This is a thick satin that you cannot see through, and it has an unbacked lace inset at the waist.
Everything about this gown is stunning. The neckline is a wide scoop neck, and the armholes are set in a little bit. The bodice is full of gathers for some fullness, while the waist is more fitted. The skirt is long and semi full. The satin is smooth and shiny, and this just feels elegant.
This may have been intended as lingerie - but I think this would make a beautiful wedding dress, evening gown, or even just a very glamorous styled piece. Also wonderful for cosplay or a costume.
There are no tags on this, I suspect that it was hand made. The fabric feels like it may be nylon or rayon. Measures like a modern size small, would work for an extra small also. Shown on a size small model. It would probably not work on a larger size just because of the waist (no stretch) and the fact that it has to be pulled over the shoulders. For best fit, please compare the measurements on this to your own, or to the size chart of a brand that fits you well.
The only condition issues are a couple of very light spots, shown in photos. This was machine washed on a delicate cycle, but if worn frequently may do better with dry cleaning or hand washing.
