Vintage Full Slip by Movie Star, Hand Dyed Slip in Raspberry Pink & Purple, Size Large
Pretty full slip made in the 1960s era has been hand dyed hot pink and purple, in a sort of tie dye / marbled effect. This slip was originally a light tan but had some fade on it so I dyed it. The first dye bath came out unevenly because of the fading, so I did the tie dye effect and I really love how it came out. There is a bit of embroidery and cutwork detail at the bust and hem, a subtle but pretty detail.
Slips like this are unique and great to use as nightgowns, lingerie, or even layered with other pieces as slip dresses. This one is made of nylon and has the look of polished cotton - a very slight sheen, and makes a little bit of noise when you move. Not as swishy as taffeta - more like a broadcloth type of weave.
This is marked size 40 and measures like a modern womens size large. This pulls on over the head and has adjustable straps. There is no stretch to this. Shown on a size small model. For best fit, please compare the measurements below to your own, or to the size chart of a brand that fits you well.
