This skirt was made in the late 1970s by French brand Pôles. Also established in the 1970s, the brand became synonymous with luxurious French-made knitwear. This skirt is an incredibly soft wool blend, with a gorgeous plaid featuring shades of cream, brown, olive green, and blue accents. This style of pleats is known as "sunray" pleats; similar to an accordion pleat, sunray pleats become consistently wider as they reach the bottom of the garment. This creates a gorgeous movement that's even more captivating in person. This piece is from the collection of a former dancer who lived between Manhattan and Paris. It closes on the side with a zipper and two buttons. Made in France of 55% wool/45% polyester.
