Vintage Towel and Washcloth, 1940s Mix and Match "Set", New Old Stock
These sweet little linens seemed to be made for each other. The washcloth is a new old stock Cannon washcloth. When I found it, the little paper tag was still attached, but it went missing by the time I got to the register (I was so sad, the tag was adorable!). But the washcloth is still in gorgeous condition. The towel also appears to have been unused, but has no tags on it. The towel is a waffle weave with a pink border, and it has been embroidered with a sailboat in a circle of flowers. The colors and the flowers on these two towels are just so complimentary that I felt like they wanted to stay together. A maroon red color, lovely primary blue, and some green. Gorgeous!
The washcloth measures 11. 5" x 11. 75"; and the towel measures 16" across and 27" long. Both are in excellent condition with no flaws noted. These would be so perfect in a vintage style kitchen (or bathroom) and they go beautifully with mid century, rustic farmhouse, country kitchen, or even style decors.
