Vintage Sheath Dress, 1950s 1960s Cotton Dress in Aqua with Pink Embroidered Flowers. Very pretty and easy to wear cotton tank dress from the mid century era. This dress had some darts in the front of it that were taken out, but it still seems to fit nicely. There are darts in the back that help to give some shape. There is no tag in this at all, but it feels like cotton and has embroidered flowers and patterned stripes. The neckline in front is high and squared off. In the back, its lower and more of a U shape. There is a metal zipper closure up the back, with a single hook and eye closure at the top of it.
The dress was likely shortened at some point, the hem looks a bit less professionally finished than the other seams. The zipper may also not be original, its difficult for me to tell (this came from an estate of a woman who did quite a few alterations of her garments).
This has some mild overall discoloration to it. It has been soaked and hand washed. It also has a couple of small rough spots where the darts were taken out, or where other alterations were done/undone (the shoulders were tacked at one point, and I removed the stitching there). Overall, dress has a lot of life left in her, and its perfect for a prettier casual dress for summer.
This measures like a modern size small or a tight size medium. Model is size small in photos, but video was filmed when model was a size small top and medium bottom. For best fit, please compare the measurements below to your own, or to the size chart of a brand that fits you well.
