Vintage California Pottery Maple Leaf Covered Dish Yellow Gold Casserole Serving Bowl with Lid$39.00
Vintage California Pottery Small Covered Serving Dish; Marigold Yellow Maple Leaf Bowl with Lid
This is a really lovely piece from the mid century era. A medium sized casserole dish in a vibrant yellow-gold color (almost like marigold? Or saffron). The top resembles a leaf with orange-brown and green accents, and there is gold edging around the lid and on the handle.
The gold edging has worn slightly in some spots. The inside of the lid has a spot that the glaze missed, and the bowl itself has a chip that was present before glazing, as it is glazed over. There is also some crazing.
Overall, I would say that this piece is in beautiful condition! Absolutely functional, this is a statement piece for any table. Perfect for fall, use it at Halloween, Thanksgiving, or any other autumn hosting that you do!
The bowl measures 3" tall and measures 7. 5" across the rim. With the lid, the total height of the piece is about 5. 5" tall. The lid is a bit wobbly on the bowl and fits more snugly in some positions than others.
This is definitely not safe for microwave use (due to the gold); and should not be placed in the dishwasher, as it will erode the shine and glaze from the dish.
