Vintage Evening Bag, Black Patent Vinyl Purse from the 1950s era in a unique triangular shape. This bag has the function and novelty of a barrel or box purse, but with the additional and unusual distinction of being triangular. A very wide base and a low height. There is a surprising amount of room in this bag because of the wide bottom! This is a framed bag with a lift lock closure. The inside of the bag is fully lined in what feels like silk, and is VERY clean, though there are some spots of wear. There is a single inner pocket that holds a piece of mirror glass (still in its paper cover!) and a small silk coin purse with a kiss lock closure, attached with a very fine gold tone chain. The points of the bag where the pleather creases to a point are damaged, but this is not visible from the outside and hardly noticeable from the inside. I have shown both sides in the photos. There is also a spot along the inside top where the silk is worn thin, also shown in photos.
This bag is absolutely perfect for the pin up girl, rockabilly, Viva Las Vegas types of looks. I believe it was intended to be a bit more formal, but i would absolutely use this as not only a cocktail or formal occasion purse - but as an everyday bag for work or business casual dressing.
The bottom of the bag measures 9" x 5". Bag is 4. 5" tall, and has a strap drop of about 3. 5". This EASILY holds my iphoneX, keys, lipstick, and a card case. I can pop some sunglasses in there too, if I position everything carefully.
