Vintage Alfi Kugel Thermal Carafe, 1980s Red Thermal Vacuum Carafe for Hot or Cold Beverages, 1 Quart Capacity
This is a now classic piece, originally designed in 1985 by Ole Palsby of Denmark, for Alfi. Versions of this are still made today, and the Museum of Modern Art even holds one in their collection (according to the Alfi website).
This carafe has clearly seen use over the years, but is still in perfect working condition and lovely aesthetically. The glass insert has no chips or cracks. The plastic casing does have some scratching but still has a shiny appearance. The two halves of the sphere twist apart to make cleaning easier, and there is a rubber gasket on the inside of the opening to keep the seal tight.
The modern site says the carafe will keep beverages hot for 12 hours, or cold for 24.
