Silver Master Butter Knife with Turned Handle W. M. Rogers Setting Dining Wedding$60.00
A lovely ornate antique, silver master butter knife, bright cut in a wild rose pattern , made in America sometime around the turn of the 20th century, by WM Rogers and SonsAA . Zoom on the last picture to see the mark , an anchor , and the maker. These make superb wedding gifts, and are so useful when entertaining to serve cheese and pate, or butter at a tea.
This item has been gently cleaned, but not buffed to a high shine and maintains its patina. Engraved in an extremely beautiful floral pattern...it features a 5 petal flower, perhaps a wild rose or dogwood blossom, on the blade.
The turned handle has a different floral motif, of the pattern. The blade is in the classic swooping scimitar shape. Perfect for cheese, pate, terrines, jam...or butter. In good condition. 7 and 5 eighths of an inch long. The blade is an inch wide. The end of the handle has some wear on the underside, as if it were used to pry a jam lid or two, but the knife itself is still extremely straight !
