This set of 4 nesting trays hails from the mid-century era, hand made in Japan in the 1950s-1960s. This beautiful tray set boasts handles, metal corners, and classic low profile sides. They are perfect for entertaining: from serving cocktails or martinis to snacks or appetizers, this set is a handsome statement piece. They would also be magnificent for a display piece. The underside of each tray has it's original metallic foil sticker that reads "JAPAN". There are four trays in nesting sizes, allowing the set to stack perfectly on top of one another when not in use. It is always exciting to find a set of these iconic mid-century trays...but we have never seen a set with such ornate hand painted scenes! Each tray has a and painted scene of bamboo plants and birds in shades of black, gray, metallic gold, and a slight hint of red at the bird wings.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with minor signs of ware from age. The metal corners have a beautiful aged patina that could be polished off if you prefer a newer look. Structurally the condition is excellent.
