This is a stunning Edwardian day/tea dress in a dusty rose with little black and white leaves printed all over the dress. I believe that the dress is made of linen but it could also be a very light white wool. (It has a texture that I can't be certain of.) The dress has a high collar that is striped with an illusion-like style in small bands of black velvet ribbon and is such a fun detail. Around the striping at the button of the neckline, the bodice is beautifully gathered and gives the bust its volume so it can achieve the mono bosom look. The sleeves on these earlier Edwardian bodices are just so good. This one is gathered just past the shoulder that puffs it up just a bit as it fits it to the upper arm. The rest of the sleeves are full and have the sideway bishop sleeve where all the volume hangs behind the wrist. The cuffs are gathered down and then striped just like the neckline under the gathers. The bodice in the front, under the bust, is slightly gathered at the hem to help keep its shape and then it hangs loose. The edge is not finished. The bodice is lined in beige cotton and it fastens up the back with hooks and eyes.
The skirt of the set has 4 rows gathered just below the waistband. The skirt is a full A-line silhouette and at the hem, there is more of the black velvet striping. The skirt fastens at the waist with a dress hook. The skirt is unlined.

Condition:
The dress is in great condition overall there with only a few small flaws. There are a few small pin head holes, but they are tucked into folds on the sleeves so are hard to see. There is also some faint fading and staining. The most noticeable spot is on the back of the _ sleeves. This set has been professionally and carefully hand laundered and is ready to wear.
