Edwardian Antique Gray Motoring / Driving Coat$225.00
Beautiful gray coat that was originally worn at the turn of the century when horses and buggies still outnumbered automobiles. Called a “driving coat,” “driving jacket,” “motoring coat,” etc., this garment was worn by drivers and passengers alike to keep dust off and for warmth. They are most often tan in color, so it’s exciting to find one in this lovely shade of dark gray.
- Unlined
- No pockets, but it has slits for easy access to the pockets of what you’re wearing underneath
- No label
- Made around 1905 to 1908
Condition: Amazing condition for a piece that’s over 100 years old. There's some wear/fraying around the cuffs. They're meant to be worn folded up, but they like to come unfolded. However, you can easily pin them into place. Some fraying and undone areas on the hem as well, but doesn't show when worn.
Note: The white that you see at the wrists in some photos is the model's shirt -- it is not a part of the jacket.

Bust: 38 inches (worn buttoned)
