Circa 50's Gilli Originals with Rhinestones

This is a Beautiful and RARE Circa 50's Gilli Originals Handbag. This Lucite Handbag looks like it just came out of a Boutique. It is Flawless! The Shape is like a Box and is Encrusted with Multiple Rhinestones. The Rhinestones are on the Handle and on each Side of the Front and the Back. It has Four Matching Feet on the Bottom. This Beauty is not in any of the Lucite Handbag Books and is Very Rare. The Inside still has its Gilli Originals New York label.

Some History of the Gilli Originals Handbags - The company Associated Plastics manufactured frames and ornaments for handbag manufacturers in the 1940's. In 1946 they were making "shell" frames for many handbag companies. It wasn't long before they started making lucite handbags under the trade name "Gilli Originals". Then they combined the seductive power of what New Yorkers wanted in black and clear, and black and rhinestones, along with "resort" bags in cream and yellow lucite.
