Jean Paul Gaultier is a French designer who started working with the house of Pierre Cardin at the age of 18. He debuted his first own design house in 1982 with the help of Kashiyama.

JPG was one of the first designers to celebrate androgyny, and to blend street style with haute couture.

He first became internationally recognized after designing for Madonnas 1990 Blonde Ambition tour. His designs during that period became some of the most iconic designs in history.
