Gorgeous navy, gold, and white early 90s Oscar de la Renta Studio full skirt party dress.  This stunner totally gives off Shelley Duvall in Troop Beverly Hills vibes. Lovely scoop neck and features a tiny plaid print that weaves together the metallic fibers of this beautiful dress.  Five 2 inch gold metal sun buttons with cloudy blue 3D centers adorn the front of the gown, including on the faux front pockets.  The sleeves have fabulous shoulder pads, and the puff skirt has two additional layers underneath; a lining and a crinoline, to give that perfect fluff to the dress.  The bodice is well-fitted with bust darts and nipped waist. It is in excellent condition.  Zipper and hook & eye closure in the back of the dress.  Labeled size 8, and fits like a medium.

Born in the Dominican Republic in 1932, couture designer Oscar de la Renta spent his career in Spain, Paris, and New York City. He worked for the likes of Balenciaga, Lanvin, and Elizabeth Arden before starting his own fashion house in the late 1960s. De la Renta’s designs helped to shape many fashion trends, from the psychedelic kaftans of the 60s/70s to the metallic party dresses of the 80s/90s, earning him numerous awards over his lifetime. In addition to clothing, de la Renta also designed accessories, and even had a line of housewares and furnishings. The iconic designer passed away in 2014.
