Label info: Geiger Tyrol is a traditional Austrian clothing maker, started in 1906 by Barbara Geiger. She adapted traditional Tyrolean knit patterns and, using wool acquired locally from farmers, started a cottage industry. By the 1950s, the company was well established and was chosen to outfit the Austrian ski team in 1954. The development for which Geiger is best known, the Tyrolean Walk Jacket, came about in 1957. Today, Geiger is still a family-owned and family-run business, with the fourth generation of Geigers at the helm.
