Wonderful vintage coat dress from Oscar de la Renta features a vivid cobalt blue and black checked wool shell with velvet details. The collar, neck bow and self buttons are black velvet; the second column of buttons is decorative only. The padded shoulders are pleated. The center back has a deep, inverted pleat and additional pleats at the waist. A demi-belt in back is embellished with two black velvet buttons, as is each cuff. Fully lined. The shell looks and feels like wool, and the velvet is probably a silk and rayon blend. No size label is present, but sizing charts indicate this dress equivalent to a modern size 10 or 12.
