This woman’s dress is by French clothing designer Weill for size 38 or US size 6. I believe it was made exclusively for Sophy Curson, a woman’s upscale clothing boutique in Philadelphia. Both places have been around for almost 100 years. The dress is classic, so I can’t figure out which decade it came from. On the Weill website, similar dresses are priced over $300.
There are slash pockets in the seam of the skirt. The bodice is a viscose/acetate blend, the skirt is polyester, and the dress is fully lined in acetate.
When you look at the closeups, the houndstooth is 3-D, not a print. Most of the squares show that the weave isn’t tight. I don’t think it’s a flaw though.
