We originally purchased this skirt as a set with a matching blouse that is labeled St. John (this is the label that appears in the listing; the skirt is missing it's label). We are not offering the blouse with the skirt, because we discovered it has two small but irreparable holes on the back, however, the skirt is still an excellent and versatile piece for your wardrobe. It comprises a top layer of semi-sheer silk chiffon, and an underlayer of opaque silk faille trimmed in black lace. It is very full with one-inch open pleats all around the waistband. Closure is with both a hook on the waistband and snaps where you would find a zipper on a heavier fabric. Although we can't date the skirt precisely, starting in 2001, St. John has added date codes to their labeling, and neither the skirt nor the blouse have this code. The skirt waist measures 27 inches, which makes it closest to a modern size 6. Please refer to the actual measurements for the best guidance regarding size.
