1970s Vintage Patchwork Calico Maxi Skirt

1970s full-length skirt handmade from patchwork calico fabrics in a diamond-shaped design, finished with an irregular handkerchief hem. Perfect “granny chic” customized garment, with pieced patchwork and drawstring waist. This stunning skirt is graphically very strong in red and deep navy blue block-print fabric and oversize diamond shapes. A wonderful re-interpretation of traditional Indian handicraft techniques.

Today patchwork garments are appearing in luxury designer collections like Chloé and Dolce & Gabbana.
