1960's vintage black linen maxi dress with matching shawl. This set is pristine and very likely never worn. Deep black linen column dress with a slit at center front. Fitted at the bust with a relaxed fit through the waist. The front of the dress is heavily embroidered in metallic silver lurex with floral designs and two-headed eagles. The double-headed eagle or double-eagle is a motif that appears in Illyria, Mycenaean Greece, and in the Ancient Near East as a common decorative element in art, clothing and architecture. This dress is likely a souvenir from travels to Greece as the label indicates. The back if the dress is solid black with the exception of a line of greek keys down center back. The matching shawl is wide and fringed at the ends. The shawl can be worn in a multitude of ways, including but not limited to, tossed over the shoulders, wrapped about the waist, tied around the head. This set is impossibly chic. Metal zip up the back.
