60s Velvet Moire Pattern Tapestry Coat Brocade Long Opera Maxi Coat Hippie 60s Full Length

This is only the third time in 40 years that I have found a genuine 1960s maxi coat that was memorable. The first was a purple tie dye! This coat is the real McCoy! A warm, thick, but not TOO heavy velvet moire pattern tapestry coat. The coat color is a deep rose burgundy, and the buttons are gold rimmed pink! There is no label, or sign of one anywhere. Was it home made? Hems look machined....but hard to tell. Fully lined in red satin. Large collar and cuffs could have fur added to glamorize....and if added to the bottom, would take on Dr. Zhivago tones! Size is small medium. The pockets are nice and deep 7. 25" deep! I am a medium, and it fits me, but that is without any winter weight clothing underneath. ....so a more petite figure would be better. I weigh 130, and am 5'6" tall...this almost hits the ground, when I wear flat shoes. But please go by measurements! The only issue I see is that there is a feint pale line that goes from the front to the back. It looks like a flaw in the original fabric. It could possibly be treated with a skillful dabbing with a colored marker? See close ups. I also found a small red lentil size hole near the hem, in the lining, and two other marks...all near the bottom of the hem. See close up. I also photographed the inside arm opening to show there are no problems, and the inside sleeve. So that's it! This is a great TV, stage, or film item. Very rare. I love the long pleat down the back and belt detail. There are also pleats at the cuff. Close up shows button holes have no wear. Collar and lined pockets all in excellent condition. There were matching buttons on the cuff, but one was missing, and a button was missing in the back. They were all the same size, so I moved it from the cuff to the belt. 2 inch hem on sleeves and bottom. Wide collar is great wind protection...you could add a loop and button for extra warmth.
