Absolutely darling vintage 1960s Teena Paige cocktail party dress in excellent condition.  It is perfectly pastel yellow with a fine metallic silver thread weaved throughout, giving this dress tremendous sparkle when the light hits.  This piece is satin-lined with a beautiful puff crochet overlay.  The scoop neckline and short sleeves are trimmed with metallic ric rac and iridescent sequins.  The bodice is well fitted with bust darts, nipped waist, and a sassy short length. Marked as a VINTAGE size 5 (see measurements below). Back metal zipper for closure.

Magazines created for teenage girls became very popular in the 1940s. At the same time, clothing manufacturers saw an opportunity and began producing junior’s fashion lines. One such company was the Epstein Garment Company of New York, who released the Teena Paige Fashions junior brand in 1944. Teena Paige designs featured both day and evening wear, the latter being their specialty, and frequently published advertisements in Seventeen. These were well received and the brand became quite fashionable in the 1950s. Also, in case you were wondering, Teena Paige was a made up name and not an actual woman.
