1960s Philippe Venet couture black sequin short set. Venet was a French designer and long time romantic partner of Hubert de Givenchy. He worked as a cutter for Schiaparelli before launching his own label in 1962. He was known for dressing the social set and the Kennedy ladies (haha, most of his designs are a bit more conservative than this hot pant set 😜). Venet passed last year, in Paris, at 91. See the last 2 photos of Philippe and Hubert.
This bonkers set is feather trimmed and silk lined. Top has back metal zipper. Shorts have attached velvet belt and back metal zipper. Excellent vintage condition. Fits like a small.
