This is a wonderful 40s does bustle era Victorian evening gown. The gown is made of a two toned green and black plaid rayon taffeta. The two toned green gives the gown a wonderful metallic sheen that really adds to the whimsical feel of this dress. The gown has a little peter pan collar with a skinny black velvet bow at the neck. It has ¾ length dolman sleeves that have little cuffs that match the collar. The bodice is fitted past the natural waistline and ends at the top of the hips in the front and dips into a small V in the back. The gown buttons up the back with fabric covered buttons and a hook and eye at the waist line. There is a small apron-like swag that hangs loosely around the front at the waist, hiding the waist seam. In the back there is a little bow like puff of a bustle. These are the fun little details that are so reminiscent of the Victorian era with a 40s twist. The gown's skirt falls to the floor and has a full sweeping circle skirt that would be super dramatic while dancing.

Condition:
The dress is in great condition overall with only a few small things to note. The rayon is prone to pulling at the seams and has already been taken in a small bit to remove the damage. I recommend adding some wiggle room when looking at fit. There is also a small repair to the end of the buttons where it was torn, most likely when someone tried it on. The dress has been professionally laundered and is ready to wear.
