These had a moment of popularity during the 1940's, especially with women going to work for the war effort, more functional styles were on trend. Modeled after the snood headpieces from the past few hundred years, this piece is made from a strong and shiny rayon fiber yarn -with a beautiful shine to it! It consists of two attached sections; one like a headband, mean to be worn across the top of the head, and the second section is meant to hold the heft of hair (whether loose, braided, etc) like a basket. The second section consists of an open net style crochet, which graduates into a different pattern with little 'popcorn' 3-D bits, and the underside of this section has elastic threading, which gathers it and gives it shape. Overall condition is excellent to near mint, with little to no signs of wear and no flaws to note! Elastic is still fresh and stretchy. Please review photographs for full details.
