This is a glamorous rich, black velvet, 30s gown. The gown is made of a bias-cut luxurious black silk velvet with sheer silk, like pantyhose silk, at the neckline. It has a V-ed neckline with sheer silk over the shoulders where it is gathered and is draped down into the velvet where there are leaf shapes that are appliqued up into the net. The tops of the sleeves are also net and are wonderful puffy flutter sleeves. The sleeves have a fitted silk chiffon inner sleeve to help give it fullness. The bust has a triangle seaming with a gathering on each side. In the back, there is a keyhole in the net. The back does not have the same gathering as the front. The shirt of the gown is bias cut and slinks over the figure falling to the floor. The dress also has its original matching belt that has a round buckle covered in velvet. The band is also in matching velvet.

Condition:
The gown is in great condition overall with the only flaws being some minor holes in the silk net and repairs. The net is fragile inherently but could also be backed in netting to make it stronger. The gown has been professionally hand laundered and ready to wear.

The velvet was difficult to photograph on this dress so the photos are a bit dark but if you need any bright photos please let me know. I want the true inky black color to show thought.
