Ami Jo Of Fairbanks, Alaska
40's Souvenir Necktie with Real Fur Appliqué$45.00
Never before in my 15 years of selling vintage for myself, and others, have I ever seen a necktie with fur!
This super rare necktie was originally a souvenir, or 'Novel Ties' from Fairbanks, Alaska. It comes on a french blue color, muted silk or rayon weave fabric. It's a fairly narrow style necktie and has no details other than the front design. This design features a large, standing bear next to a cabin on stilts (to keep the bears away?) and both of these structures are made from small, treated cuts of animal hide with fur attached. Some small stitches in an off white thread, as well as dashes of white paint add the only surface details. Phenomenal! In overall near mint to excellent condition with just a few light stains or spotting at the neck area. Please see photographs for full details. The label at back point inside reads 'Omi Jo, Novel Ties, Fairbanks Alaska'.
Measurements:
- 53" total length from tip to tip
- 3" width at front tip
- 2" width at back tip
