Shoe history?
Museum worthy?
These unused heeled oxfords are ORNATE! Just look at those details. They are a mix of gabardine and leather (the box says "kid", the word for leather used at the time.) Original box is very plain, shown, with just some written info on one end. Look at the laces! Ribbons with aglets and ribbon frayed at ends to fan out like a tassel. The top stitching on the gabardine is amazing. Small perfs too. Works of art. The soles have molding that says "White House Shoe" and "Brownbilt" and "Airstep" (this Air Step logo was used before 1934). They are near perfect but for a nick in one heel which can't be seen unless you tilt it in good light. They actually measure a bit long for a 6 1/2 -- 9 1/2" on insole, which would normally be a 7, BUT these have long "pointy" toes and that may be why. They are narrow at 2 5/8" at ball of foot on INSOLE. Package insert included (shown).
