20s/30s Chinese Embroidered Dragon Robe$699.00
19th or 20th Century Chinese dragon robe appears to be black silk lined with finely woven natural linen. It is heavily embroidered with dramatic dragons along with traditional motifs for clouds, water, etc. Silver metallic threads are attached to the robe by hand with fine red thread using the couching technique. There appears to be some machine stitching employed in the construction of the shell. In addition to being wearable, this robe would make a wonderful display piece.
CONDITION
- The entire robe is excellent structurally with no tears, holes, or shattered silk.
- Front of robe has no condition issues; all embroidery is intact.
- Couching stitches have come loose in two places on back of neck. None of the silver threads appear to be missing, so these areas could be restored easily.

- 23" across the back between the side seams.
