This gorgeous black cotton petticoat/skirt has the most decadent ruffles of all time! They're so pretty and dramatic. This is a super cool 1920s piece and can be styled lots of different ways.
This skirt was made by the National Cloak & Suit Co. They were founded in New York in 1888 and expanded to Kansas City in 1919/1920. This skirt was made between that time and when they merged with another company and changed their name to Bellas Hess. The skirt was likely purchased from one of their popular mail-order catalogues.
Condition: The elastic at the waist is no longer stretchy, making the skirt about the same circumference at the waist as it is at the bottom. It fits larger sizes, or it can also be pinned at the waist to make it tighter, as it is on the model, but you may have to get creative to make it lay correctly if you're pinning many inches. Other than the elastic, it's in great condition. No rips or discoloration.
Please note that since this was originally an under-layer, it closes with just one snap and there's a gap below. When wearing it as a skirt, you'll probably want to pin it closed there regardless of the fit!
