Because this is lined in white satin, and due to the look of the label, I am placing it in the 40s, maybe early 50s. The bottom of the tie is not centrally pressed. Given a proper press, the tie could be 4" wide. That would also "square" up the bottom of the tie. There are no flaws to prevent one from ding this. The tie has no stains, snags, holes or any issues I can detect. My husband thinks Towncraft may have been an early JCPenny's brand? Anyway, just one of 400 or so neckties I need to find a good home for. Price based on design, age, and condition. of the USA. Be warned, vintage ties are shorter than modern ties. The fashion was to wear them short, and men were shorter in height.
