10s/Edwardian Antique Cream Silk Dress With Chantilly Lace$265.00
This is a lovely 1910s cream silk dress. The dress is made of stunning silk jacquard with a lovely leaf print. The bodice has a V-ed neckline with a lace modesty panel on the front and back. It also has an asymmetric styling with a lovely white chantilly lace swag over the left side. The dress would have had a matching belt but it has been lost to time. The skirt is simple with a (seam/folded) detail on the left side and falls to the floor. The dress fastens up the back with tiny hooks and eyes down the center.
Condition:
The dress is in great condition with only a few things to note. The most noticeable is that the chantilly lace does have some scattered holes, a few being large. The worst of it is on the back of the panel. There is also a small grayish mark under the right arm that did not lift during the laundering. The last thing is that the dress would have had a matching belt and would have hidden the waist seam, which is not done with too much finesse as it was meant to be covered, but a ribbon or any other belt could be used to hide that seam, and a pop of color could be fun. The dress has been professionally hand laundered and is ready to wear.
