Wonderful 1930's 1940s nicely detailed wood slat Picnic Basket with thin fat thick brown woven slats. Silver metal tabs and latch. Hinged lid with nail joints. Due to its age I would not actually take on a picnic but it looks great in the kitchen as decor or can hold craft items or sewing for storage (might want to line the interior for storage of some items). The top band is wrapped in an very old technique and applied with little nail tacks. Found in **Ellen Kate's Closet

Basket body Measures: 14" L x 9 1/2" W x 9" H

Somewhat shabby, somewhat fragile so you would not want to put anything really heavy in it and lift. There is a little broken area on the bottom from use and age so a bit delicate in that area. Some stain darkening in places. One metal plate on the top lid is a little rusty. It's not perfect but its quite unusual.
