Vintage 1960s modified kaftan, tunic, hostess dress, maxi dress, gown by Bergdorf Goodman. Vibrant floral garden flowers in pink, blue, yellow, grey, white on a vivid bright green background.
These modified kaftans were made popular by Penthouse Gallery in the 1960s (one will be listed here today). Hostess parties were all the rage in the 60s - 70s and fancy hostess dresses replaced the confining garments, heels and pearls, of yore.
The only thing that identifies this gorgeous gown as loungewear, is the front zip, the tie through belt and the pockets. Gorgeous enough to wear out, yet so very comfortable for longing on the couch or working from home.
The likely polyester fabric, feels like dense silk with fantastic heft & flow. It is a heavier weight fabric. Not thin or flimsy. Lovely drape and feel.
Zip up the turtle neck or leave it open. Pull the matching sash belt through, to tie it front of back.
Please NOTE: This is labeled a small and likely best fits an XS to S. But with its voluminous cut, it can likely fit up to an 8. The model in the pics is a 10. It was a bit tight on her which is OK for a dress but not loose and fluid as this lounge dress was meant to be.
