Vintage Victorian Style Red Cotton Checkered Dress!

A very well-made vintage costume from a theater in the 1960's! The PERFECT Victorian style! The construction is so precise to an original 1890's design, if it weren't for the 1960's fabric selections, I would have thought it was the real deal!

Features:

- fully boned, fitted, structured bodice with 10 bones
- long, skinny, fitted sleeves with metal zippers at cuffs
- bodice is a dark fuchsia/wine color cotton linen
- small beige lace appliqués all over bodice and sleeves
- ultra nipped in waist
- pleating under bodice to create a full skirt
- wild psychedelic checkered cotton fabric skirt
- matching psychedelic checkered piping trim on bodice
- 2 large snap closures at the back of skirt and 10 large hook and eye closures up back
- dress does fasten all the way up the back, but my mannequin is a bit too rigid for all the hooks and eyes to be fastened on it

Good vintage condition. Not perfect. Some of the "bones" have rusted. 2 of the "bones" have popped out of their casings at the top and will probably need to be patched. One "bone" has already been patched. Some of the hooks and eyes up the back are a little bit rusty. One very small faint stain at neckline. Overall, the dress presents beautifully and the issues are mostly internal.

Dress is much more fitted and hourglass shape than on the mannequin; it just doesn't close all the way on the mannequin.
