This is a beautiful, substantial weight vintage pearl necklace, with glass pearls the color of dark cream or champagne. The pearls are individually knotted on string, a sign of quality.

The clasp is a pretty gold tone box clasp in a flower shape. It has a pearl in the center that is white, so I’m thinking it’s not originally to the necklace because the other pearls have aged to a different color.

The necklace is about 28” long, with about a 14” drop from the neck.

There is some discoloring on the metal of the clasp. Some of the beads and string closer to the clasp are a little darker, probably a result of skin oils from the back of the neck. I see very little paint flecks from the pearls, so they are in overall great condition. They have a beautiful luminescence.

I’m not sure exactly how old the necklace is, but I’m thinking it could be from the 1950s-1960s. There is no maker’s mark.
