Vintage Pale Yellow Wool Sweater Sequin Beaded Applique Boat Neck Pullover Cropped 50s 60s Midcentury$48.00
This is a knockout vintage pale yellow wool cropped sweater with a boat neck, ¾ sleeves, and zipper in back. Just look at the stunning detail—a brown sequin butterfly, satin coiled roses with a bead tip and embroidery with beads, sequins throughout in clusters, delicate beaded trim around the neck, sleeves and hem, and more. Since cropped cardigans are in style right now, you’ll be even trendier by wearing a vintage one!
The size is not marked but I would consider it a size medium to large. Please go by these measurements to determine if it will fit: It is about 38” underarm to underarm, 34” around the bottom (which would fall at the waist) and 17” long from the shoulder to the hem or bottom of the sweater. The sleeves are about 16” long.
There is a full-length zipper in the back with a hook top closure. The sweater is fully lined, including the sleeves.
The only downside to this vision of beauty is that there are several moth holes, a few of which are large. Most are around the top. I patched the smallest of them but didn’t tackle the largest. I think they could be patched with small pieces of a similar color sweater and then sequins placed on top. Some sequins may be a little loose, but do not appear in danger of falling out. The lining has several small holes and a few small stains. The holes and stains do not show on the outside.
See pics for condition issues. I have more pics than I was able to post; let me know if you’d like to see them.
Given the age of this sweater, I would consider it somewhat fragile so suggest handling it gently and being careful not to catch the sequins on anything when you’re wearing it.
There is no maker’s label or fabric label. These were commonly made in Hong Kong in the 1950s or 1960s.
