Vintage Pair of Blue Carnival Glass Candle Holders Little Bowls Iridescent Purple Blue Green

This is a pair of gorgeous vintage blue carnival glass candleholders produced by the Indiana Glass Co. They are in the 2228 Harvest Grape pattern. The iridescent colors are primarily indigo blue, purple and green but reflect gold as well. The hues are beautiful—these pictures don’t do them justice.

The candle holders are 4” high and about 4 ½” around at the top. You can use them as little bowls if you don’t want to use them as candle holders.

There are some rough spots on the inside edge where the candles are inserted and some other places (this is common for carnival glass). These are not flaws; they would have occurred during the production process. There is a miniature chip on the base of one of the candle holders; you can’t see it but it can be felt if you run your hand over it. Otherwise, there are no major chips, cracks, or scratches (at least visible to the naked eye, I don’t see any).

Indiana Glass Co. of Dunkirk, Indiana, was well known for its contemporary carnival glass production in the 1970s, when carnival glass experienced a major revival. This Harvest pattern was possibly the company’s best-known pattern.
