Vintage Mccoy Brown Drip Teapot Tea Pot Farmhouse Cottage Midcentury Mid Century$18.00
This vintage brown drip teapot was made by McCoy. I wasn’t able to get the glare spots out of the photos, so please ignore them—the white shiny spots are not flaws.
The teapot is about 8 ¼” from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle, 5” wide, and 4 ¾” high. It holds 4 cups.
There is a chip about ½” long on the inside rim of the teapot, which matches the size of the “tongue” of the lid (the little rounded piece that sticks out to enable you to “lock” the lid on), so I wonder if someone pulled off the lid with such force that the tongue made the chip. At any rate, you don’t see the chip when the lid is on. There is a miniscule chip in the underside of the lid. And there is a small chip on the base of the teapot. There are also some marks in the glaze that would have occurred during the production process.
It was probably made in the 1960s or 1970s.
Marked “140 McCoy USA.”
