Authentic Lea Stein vintage bird brooch, Toucan parrot pin in red, gray and black and signed on the clasp, Lea Stein and Paris. It is about 1 1/2" round. There are three tiny circles indentures that look like it might have come that way with the processing of the piece. Please see the third photo. Otherwise, it looks to be in very good condition and a rare piece, especially in the beautiful red, gray and black color. This design was made between 1968-1980.
Lea was a French-trained artist, born in Paris in 1931. She started making whimsical pieces in 1969 when her husband came up with laminating layers of Rhodoid, cellulose acetate sheets.
